It's a 2 minutes long buff. I start most boss fights with it, which takes away anywhere from 2 to 4 bars of the typical (adventure) bosses' hp, and then 40 seconds later you do it again. Most bosses don't last more than a minute to a minute and a half. It's even better if the boss spawns weak adds, as you can execute them for the transformation.
